As I was coming home from church today I spotted a dishwasher on the side of the road. Turns out to be a KD 18. Naturally I picked it up otherwise I might lose my AW.Org card. lol I have a KD 12 at my Dads so now what do I do? I'm going to use it for every day usage and I know the challenges that face me with the KD 12. The KD 18 looks like humpty dumpty after the fall but is not too bad. So what would be the best thing to do? Also what year is the KD 18 for those who might know. Which ever one is the one I would keep I would offer the other to anyone else intersted in it.

Thanks
Joe

Joe, a KD 18 was marketed from 1975 or 1976 until 1978 or 1979. What color is it? What are the cycle buttons? It too is an excellent dishwasher.

Here are the buttons on the dishwasher. Normal Wash, Soak and Wash, Rinse and Hold and Energy Saver. The front panel is white.

Sounds like an Imperial. KDI-18. I believe the 18-series is the first with an upper-rack wash arm. Quite a radical change for KA from having only a lower wash arm for so many years.

Yep, Roger in Tucson has the portable version of this machine.

You just hang on to that

Stainless KD-12 and keep that 18 as a back up, that is required to keep your AW.O card in good standing!
