Howdy folks,

I received this machine back with all of the wires removed. Would anyone be able to take a color photo of their color keyed machine (this one is a 1970 Kenmore 800) so I can reconnect the wires? Of course I'm happy to go at this with a volt meter should the rest of you be the same as the person who did this.

Howdy Steven,

I have a Kenmore Model 110.7204902G Serial C32317369. If this might help, I'd be happy to photo the back panel, but won't be able to get to it until mid=week.

Bill

intermittent agitation vs ex-lo

I think the only question I perceive at this point is based on Bill's schematic is that my machine accomplishes ex-slo with intermittent agitation as opposed to a 3 speed motor. I'd imagine the connections and components behind the piano buttons are the same and the timer is responsible for this slight distinction.

Reconnecting Wires On A Kenmore Key-Board Washer

Steven, all the wires and terminals are labeled if you look closely.

If you had done to me what you did to the rightful legal owner of this washer you would not have had any wiring left to connect.

While I appreciate your feedback, I feel I was and have always been the rightful owner.

Not only are the wires labeled clearly but if you look at the schematic even the color of the wires are shown. The blocks on the timer are labeled by color so you know which side they go in. This was the thing about great about Whirlpool appliances

Uh-oh...

...washer drama in the Imperial forum! Personally, I don't feel it's helpful to make oblique references to others' personal lives in such a manner as combo52 has...

The OP did exactly that.

This machine was not "vandalized."

Yes I would agree this is pretty one sided, right now you are at 0 and the other side is at 30 positive comments.

I'm not a paid-up member of the forum so can't view ATTT. Another forum member kindly bought me a month's membership back at Christmas, but in the end I hardly used the premium features, and regretted ever going near Dirty Laundry, so have not renewed.

since you sort of asked...

John,

I would consider it a difference in memory of events that occurred long in the past at a time when things were very unsettled for me. But at that point a beautiful 55 Frigidaire had already been gifted but prior to that a I'll hold onto it and appreciate it until it you want it again babysitting relationship had already been established. On the Frigidaire I'd said keep it. I was really up in the air on the 800 set. I'd got them from club member that I'd traded 63 set that I paid 900 for on ebay (bit of a rip off but whatever) when the day came for the collection liquidation I'd asked for the brady set, and this is where we arrive at a difference in memory of what was stated in person when the pickup occurred. The question "Are you ever going to collect again" was raised, I said no, I didn't plan on it, and I asked if the 800s could be babysat and visited like we had established with the Frigidaire prior to it being gifted. He asked what of the other many machines that were picked up, and I said I didn't care what he did with them, I just wanted them to be appreciated and not tossed. My recollection is the answer to my question was "Of Course". The other party doesn't seem to remember that part of conversation. But either way, if you look at how things ended up, one partly clearly benefited from what I'll call a friendship (although I feel very betrayed) with not only their property bring returned in a non-molested state but a 55 Frigidaire in excellent condition, and a Philco in restorable condition. While I don't like how things had to be accomplished I felt there was other choice as the webmaster did not wish to mediate (and I don't blame him) and the parties could not agree and I was told by the lawyer that the party was avoiding all contact.

These 800s are special to me, my aunt had the exact set. Do they need to work again no, I like looking at them, but I feel its regrettable that someone who received many items (many more than the Philco and Frigidaire) chose to not return items they knew I wanted back in a non molested state. I felt I was being more fair by offering not only his items back but the Philco that I had no interest in but I knew someone would. Apparently that wasn't good enough.

At the end of the day, this club is not my life and having a bunch of high drama people hating isn't how I wish to my time. I feel I was wronged and I feel that I had to take measures to correct that matter. Would I do it again, absolutely.

Steven

couple more things...

now that I'm angry.

When someone posted the Maytags in shoppers square when I'd sent the fishing line out with, thats when things really changed in my mind. A newer club member who didn't have a collection expressed interest in the items, then the member I had the disagreement with swooped in and took them from the interested party, even after the interested party posted that they really wanted them after he had. In mind the right to do would have been to let that new member have them when I know a fact there multiple maytags already in his collection. I saw that same mean greedy spirit that I'd experienced and I decided not today MF'er. I realized then that there was no misunderstanding, this was an intention, the phone conversations and the in person conversation about give and trade back he knew those words were not in an email and he used the trust I had in him, to hold onto something that was important to me that I felt he would care for while I was in transition, to basically steal. I'd like to thank the person who was interested in Maytags for giving me a good reason to carry on the way I did.
