Hello Guys, I am in unfamiliar territory here. One month ago I bought a 1968 Frigidaire washer (the Jet Action Type). Brought it home and did all the checks recommended by you guys. Had a temporary problem with timer motor failure, but a drop of machine oil and a squirt of WD-40 got the motor running just fine. All is working as it should be. Just one problem. The washer is missing the agitator cap. Is there a chance that anyone in AW or someone you might know that has a cap for sale? If not for sale, then borrow/loan the cap so I can get it reproduced. The machine is complete and fully functioning in all respects, except for this one thing.
Thanks for any help/advice you have to offer. Losangeles

That's wonderful that you got your timer issue resolved, Tommy. What are you thinking of "Jet Action" agitation thus far? I have no clue as to where you could find a cap, I hope the folks who have some spares find your thread here.

Use fabric softener?

The reason I ask is that, I don't have a cap for your model of Frigidaire, but I believe I have a brand new fabric softener dispenser for your model of Frigidaire.

I bought it believing it was the fabric softener dispenser for the Frigidaire 1-18 washer that I have. But when it arrived in the mail, it wouldn't fit on top of the agitator (the dispenser opening was slightly smaller than the top of the 1-18 agitator).

So if you would be interested in a brand new fabric softener dispenser, email me. I'll sell it to you for what I paid for it. My email is in my profile

He’ll need the bleach cup

That goes in the column to keep any cap on. It is spring loaded and designed to lock any cap on.

Hippie Doll your dispenser will work for him if he can find a bleach cup.

It’s not like the old Unimatics with the rubber cap that seals itself.

1968 Frigidaire Deluxe agitator cap

I will send pictures of the top of the agitator and measurements.
It looks as if I just line up the notches of the agitator with notches in the cap and turn right to lock it in place. The How to Use manual mentions a bleach cup, but I thought that was optional. Please correct me if I am wrong and really need a bleach cup. If I really do need a bleach cup to hold the cap on,Great! Just another part to source. Anyone having one, I would gladly buy it from you.
Hippidoll. Hold on to the fabric softener dispenser till you see the pictures of the agitator and the measurements. We may be able to do business. Thanks Guys and Lady's for your help and advice.

Bleach cup

.... holds the cap in place. Or the fabric softener cup in place. To put the cap OR the fabric softener on, you push down on the bleach cup ..... twist a 12th of a turn and the bleach cup pushes up on the bottom of the cap or fabric softener cap to hold it in the notch detent of the cone. Same way with your 63 I believe.
