All is normal. Tub is not supposed to index after brake wears in. |

Hum/rattle is probably the plastic shield around the capacitor. Mine made a lot of noise and when I saw older models didn’t even have that I just removed it. These machines do tend to make a lot of funny noises that seem to be normal. |

If your SQ purchased in February of 2017 has finally stopped indexing, I guess there's hope that my 9 Series (purchased July 2017) will eventually stop, as well.
As others have mentioned, one learns to ignore the odd comes-and-goes sounds made by SQ top-loaders. My 2014 AWN542 sometimes made a sound during slow agitation that was best described as someone shaking a Rosary around in a 1-lb. coffee can. As long as you don't smell anything burning and it isn't shedding nuts and bolts like a '73 Fiat, it's probably fine. |
