I'd like to showcase a total restoration performed on this 1961 KDS-14. No stone was left unturned and it is now in perfect condition and operation.

A very challenging but fun project.

I have a lot of pics so i'll be posting them a little at a time.

Awesome job!  Good enough to make Hobart jealous.

Maybe we need an AW Kitchen; this dishwasher, Louis' Caloric stove - all we need is a refrigerator that's been through a similar restoration.

Excellent.

The old Hobart KitchenAid's were the best of their time. I am glad that Whirlpool has still kept the KitchenAid brand to a higher standard then their regular stuff.

My Mom and Dad built a new house in 1971 and installed a KitchenAid top of the line Superba (in avocado green, of course. You would expect anything less?)

That was a great dishwasher (it had the soak cycle). They replaced it in around 1991 with a fairly similar model.

I bought a KitchenAid in 2009 and it has been the best dishwasher I have ever experienced. Quiet and efficient.

Wow!  Most impressive!    I have to ask, what did you use to redo the inside of the door?

"I have to ask, what did you use to redo the inside of the door?"

I'll post some pictures of that process in the future.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.
