.
Someone builds a new-old device for metaphysical exploration.
I have heard the word/name Hieronymus before, that's all.
Now to figure out "the rest of the story"...

I am not clear as to what this device is used for? Please explain.the article isn't much help on this. Its a nice looking device-just want to be more clear as to its use and how to operate it.
If you want true shortwave UV light you should use a clear, quartz glass mercury-argon filled lamp. These bulbs are used in air purifiers, smaller ones are the "Ozone" bulbs used in old washers/dryers-and today in toothbrush sterilizers.
In the article they state coils "amplify" signals.Coils alone CAN'T amplify anything. They are used with other components such as capacitors to form a resonant RF circuit so it can be used with a SS device or vacuum tube to act as an amplifier.Your radio has these circuits in them to amplify incoming radio signals from the antenna. For our transmitters LARGE variable coils(Variometers)and capacitors work with large vacuum tubes to produce the transmitter signal fed to the transmitter antenna.Becuase the coils and caps are variable the frequency can be varied.
the "leaf" or for my field "Key" switches were common in old audio mixer consoles and some of our older transmitters use these switches.Sometimes have to repair these-or even fabricate them from parts from old switches to keep the ones we have going.Normally these switches are HIGHLY reliable and seldom fail. That is why they were common in older equipment.Just don't use them to switch high currents.they were originally designed to switch LV DC and AC-signal audio.

our GE SW transmitters contain MANY of those Leaf or key switches.

"not clear as to what this device is used for?"

Ghost hunting and similar esoteric mumbo-jumbo; i.e., other-dimensional communication, alien communication, contacting spirits beyond the grave, etc.

It looks more like a Dr Who prop!

Anyway would like to see a demonstration of this equipment.

I presume this is for those that don't have "The Gift".
