Hi

I recently stumbled on someone on youtube making videos of Schulthess washers in a on premise laundryroom. While I saw these washer once in a hostell in Geneva, I got curious and checked their website.

From my first impression I recognized another brand... BSH. Some of the "parts" like the doorboot, the detergentdrawer, but also some "gimmicks" that where explained in the manuals, did remind me of Bosch and Siemens washers. Same thing for the dryers.

As part of my "research" I came across the V-zug website. The dryer there had a slight Electrolux influence.

Thing is that i'm totally not sure. Both companies seems to claim they are independent and not part of Elux / Bsh group.

Any thoughts - info - whatever.... please sharing caring :)

Schulthess does source some stuff from BSH, especially their dryers.

VZug is VZug. No idea what about them made you feel ELux. Different drum (actually quite small at 105L), completly different filtering system unlike any dryer, different label characteristics (A+++-10% in under 3h!).
If it's VZug, it is VZug.

Now that was talking about their main product line.
Both have budget lines sourced completly externally from BSH or Arcrelik respectivly.

I'not sure about the current VZug Adorina series, but in the past they were relabelled Bauknechts (Whirlpool) and before that AEG (before the take over by Electrolux).

Some machines just have tendency to look like other machines. For example, I have long thought that Arcelik machines have looked very similar to BSH machines.

Probably a similar analogy is that modern cars all look the same these days.

Some components in BSH machines were made by different companies. The drawer in mum's Bosch washing machine is made by Prettl.
