Hi,

Does anyone know what year this dryer is? Does the panel light up? It looks newer than 20 yrs. but then again I'm not very knowledgeable about old dryers. Thanks.

Sears didn't put out a ton of advertisements outside of the catalog. However, a similar dryer was found as a set last year in case you're interested in some more glam photos of the dryer.

Thank you Ben for the link, that is one beautiful set. The seller did not reply to my inquiry so I'm still looking.

What was the meaning of "4 Star"?

4 Star

Was an earlier designation that Sears put on products that their testing lab and sales department though were great products because of Price and unsurpassed performance. Later 4 star disappeared and Sears used the phrase  Sears Best .

Does anyone know when this change occurred, I don't know exactly maybe sometime in the mid 60s.
