Sorry if this was posted already, but just saw it:

Do you agree with their reporting?

Yes, mostly.

In 1910 or so, Woodrow Wislon did it. It failed. Again in 1930, Hoover signed the Hawley Smoot tariff act. It worsened the depression.
In our state, Ontario is our main trade partner because of automotive.
The auto pact, which was equal fair trade was abolished in 2000 when Nafta created trade parity with Canada in it's place.
This region does not need another bad economic down turn. Neither does Ontario.

I agree with their reporting.  I'm undecided about whether I agree with the decisions around tariffs and subsidies.

I also agree with PBS on their unbiased reporting.

I DO NOT agree with the tariffs at all, LG and Samsung will just start building Non-Union junk in right to work states while taking hundreds of millions of tax subsidies from tax payers in the states where they set up shop.

5 or 10 years from now WP will still have about 30% of the washer market and the average price of a new washer will start at over $1000, the good news is that becoming an appliance repair tech will still be a great career.

[ Get in touch with me if you are interested in becoming an appliance repair technician, we are looking for 1 or 2 more people to work with us ]

Tariffs!

I do not think tariffs should be put in place. The reason whirlpool lost a lot of business is because they have been making garbage for so long! A lot of the stuff out their is garbage and we should have laws to protect the consumer from all brands! Amazing how years ago most products were made with better quality and still most people were working! American business has been destroyed by their own business practices and the companies have put their own people out of work! I have saw in so many cases where good people lost jobs because of high salaries and many other  bureaucrat reasons!

Yes, and limiting

competition allows price gouging, and even worse quality when less of a choice is available in the marketplace.
I know they all source many of the same parts from China, etc. but say if one manufacturer decides a ceramic/metallic coated bearing will last longer with only a minimal cost increase to their consumers and do it, that gives them an edge, but fairly.
They all say their products are superior anyhow.
