Kelvi had some designer fronts on their refrigerators, even offering some of the "themes" on other appliances.

The fridge appears to be a manual defrost type (either that or a really badly located evaporator in the freezer section) so that has me wondering if its ranking in the model line would have qualified for the papering over at the factory.
Regardless, it's so awful it's hard to imagine it was intentional on anyone's part. It sort of reminds me of the buses you see out there that are wrapped in advertising.
It certainly is a curiosity but I couldn't live with it, even as a second fridge that was out of view, and I'm betting the adhesive would be a bitch to remove. |

I remember an ad for the Delft blue Kelvinator theme that featured the washer and dryer in the basement and the refrigerator in the kitchen above, maybe a range?
I'll bet you're right about the DIY makeover on this one, it's tired now but was at least fairly well executed and thought out at the time it was done. I knew a local Designer that routinely wallpapered refrigerators in her client's homes, and her own. Oh so pretty TOL GE dispenser side-by-sides, but they all became KIAs within months. |

Kelvinator was the last manufacturer to use not have "no frost" (i.e. fan-forced) refrigerator sections on their otherwise no-frost (fan-forced freezer) refrigerator-freezers. THey did the usual "doesn't dry out food" ad campaigns. The Foodaramas were similarly designed until they were merged into WCI.
