Every year on the forth of July I like to go to a reunion that celebrates the older way of life. This year they had an exhibit that showed older appliances such as washing machines, radios, TVs and much more. I hope you guys enjoy.

Thanks for sharing.

Picture #5 reminded me of the little black & white tv my grandma had on her kitchen counter. She would watch her Mexican soap operas on that little tv while she was in the kitchen, sitting at the table, drinking coffee and/or smoking a cigarette.

What is picture #13? I couldn't figure it out!!!

I like the wash tubs, really miss those. To me, those just scream laundry day!! My grandmother had 2 of them, separate, for thoroughly rinsing. She had a Western Auto Wizard wringer washer, no indoor plumbing and had to haul water from the cistern and heat it on the stove. Clotheslines for drying. During years of drought, she'd take it to the laundrymat in town, and when she got much older too. Laundry day was a lot of work but she'd finish it up early and still lay out a nice dinner at 5:00pm. I don't know how she did it! LOL.
