Can someone shed light on the vintage of this Maytag? It's the model my Mom owns. It's been a great trouble free machine. I bought it for her several years ago, but I don't remember when. Maybe 2008? The model # is MTW5720TQ0.

T in eighth position indicates 2007 model year.  The serial number is coded more accurately for the year and week of manufacture.

DADoES, thanks for that info! So I'm guessing this is a rebadged Whirlpool. The agitator appears to be a Whirlpool design.

It has served her well over the last eleven years with no problems at all. It just keeps going!

Serial Number

It's serial number is CU1940123, so I don't know if the old Maytag ID system will work. I'm visiting my Mom on vacation now. I was bored this afternoon, so I opened the cabinet, trying to figure out how to defeat the lid switch. I also discovered that it is a direct drive model. LOL!

This was the first Maytag model after Whirlpool's 2006 acquisition of Maytag and "celebrated" the center dial heritage of Maytag automatic washers.

That's a Whirlpool-syntax serial number, not Maytag syntax.

19th week of 2007.
