Here is a restorable washer, wish it were closer. It is a little older than that turquoise colored dryer, so not a matched set. people keep asking for these and here one is! CLICK HERE TO GO TO Northwesty's LINK on eBay

And the only negative was they DID tangle the clothes badly, but as I have always maintained, If clothes are tangled, they have done something besides lying in water! |

I am about to part one of these out that looks better than this one, so if someone buys this one or wants parts from mine get in touch.
The one we have has a motor problem and I took the good door boot. These early WH FL washers were one of the most reliable early AWs, however I don't know of a single one that is still in everyday use.It is pretty safe to say that no early AW has lasted 60+ years, however I am sure that many machines built in the last 20 years will still be running after 60 years, quality control just got increasingly better over the last 30 years or so. to say nothing of pot metal and metal parts that got replaced by various plastic parts so rusting and corrosion were greatly reduced. The quality of paint was also improved, even, eventually, by Westinghouse. |

I do have a machine like this one. Motor, solenoid and various parts appear in good condition but I’ve never tested the machine as the door latch is broken and the boot is dry rotted. It’ll be going away st some point as well.
