This thing will crank out "hot" water by tubs full.

A friend of mine had one of similar vintage in his farmhouse outside of Sebastopol.  I don't know for sure if it was a Ruud or if Ruud held the patent on the instantaneous system.

The water it put out would burn your hands, and it was nearly impossible to find the right flow rate to keep it coming.  It was feast or famine, and when doing dishes by hand you had to be on your toes.

Ruud is also known for having made the Monel water heater tanks. They should still make them, but I doubt many people would want to pay what it would cost today.

I'm fascinated by those Monel tanks, but, yeah, the cost of something like that today would be staggering.
