Hi everyone

As a Hoover enthusiast, found something close to the 'holy grail' - maybe

Bought last sunday (july 22) through Kijiji.

Paid 30 bucks for it.

Probably still the ultimate piece of memorabilia regarding Hoover washers...

Hoover Model 0306 - (pretty much the same as U.K.'s Model 0307)

As far as I know, those were the very first Hoover washing machines in production.

Facts:

Some rust, lots of it...

Metallic brand name missing

Nonetheless... 100% functional still (motor and pulsator) !

Wringers appear to be in good shape, with crank handle functional

An 'interesting' restoration project to occupy my spare time in 2019 ... ...

A single tub HOOVER?
Already my mind is thinking, that would be a perfect setup next to one of your twintub washers, to use for rinsing.

Best of luck getting it restored and back in service. Doesn't sound like it should take much.

Sending positive vibes your way my friend...
:o)

And a bargain as well!

For those who may have not seen this video before; a 1940's promotional piece in the U.K. for these machines.

Back when I was a kid, a military family rented an apartment next to me. She was from Germany and loved the US. She had a newer Hoover like that with a motorized wringer and pump. She rinsed in the bathtub until her husband got her a used Maytag (cant remember the model) with the dials on the front and logo that lit up. She thought she had died and gone to heaven.

Thank ya all !

... Let's not forget the little 'twin tub' :

This year, additionally, got me a couple of those NEW *MINI* TWINNIES I referred to in another thread.

One as a spare, in regards to my small loads machine in use, and yet an other I intend to keep as one BNIB -'mint'- appliance. [ref.: Profile]

Of course, my favorites are still (and will always be) the vintage ones.

As of now, never had the chance to stumble across an old Model 0500 - sold directly for the North American market from the Hoover manufacture in Merthyr.

Maybe one day ?

: )
