I believe these can stack, so I could put a second washer in the laundry closet... but how would one reach the controls at the top of the dryer? Has anyone done this? I would like to have this option. |

You will need to remove the shipping bolts from the back of the machine, should be 3 maybe 4. Other than that noting special to do. |

Found this from www.reviewed.com/laundry/...
"A magnetic door stopper keeps the door slightly ajar between cycles, to prevent the mold and mildew stink that plagued many early front loaders. This is much safer than the trick many front-loader owners have had to employ — leaving the door wide open between uses, to let things dry out."
If only Maytag had thought of this...the trouble they could have saved themselves...

Where is your laundry cupboard? Upstairs (not on the ground floor)? |

It's on the ground floor but there are either 7 stairs up to the front door, or 3 coming in the garage door but not sure it will fit in that door. |

OK I will - I purchased a Maytag dryer too - basic model with lint screen on top - panic mode purchase so I hope I don't regret getting the matching dryer. |

Melissa, sorry the little ones got the tummy ache. If you feel like you need the Sanitize Allergiene, or Whites, use them. Normal has Extra Hot as a wash temp option, but it still won't be as hot as Whites cycle. Given Normal is the energy Star cycle, Hot will barely be warm on this cycle. Warm will be cool to tepid at best. When I use my Normal cycle, I always select Hot because this cycle uses so relatively little water the temperature of the water quickly cools down. The speed/quick cycle, it's quick because it defaults to light soil. Also there is probably no spin between wash and rinse. My quick wash does a wash, drain and rinse, spin, final rinse, and final spin. If you are pretty intent on using this cycle, added an extra rinse or two. LG washers can allow you to select more than one extra rinse from what I understand. also, investigate what types of cycles are available through the download feature. Also remember, these machines are pretty intelligent. It automatically adjusts cycle times based upon size, weight, and composition of the loads. That Maytag dryer is a very good dryer. It's based on the tried and true Whirlpool dryer design that's been in production since the mid 1960s. This post was last edited 07/28/2018 at 15:38 |

Take pictures of the dryer, call the store, ask to speak with the manager and request a discount for damaged goods. I’ll bet you dollars to donuts that you’ll get a nice discount after you’ve sent the manager the photos. And if you can’t see the dent, so what. As for the area tha may be starting to rust, if its also in an area that can’t be seen when installed, just get some white Rustoleum paint and touch it up. Maybe the cockeyed leg can be bent back into the proper position.
I’ve had appliances delivered that had slight damage, that couldn’t be seen once installed and the store has always given me more of a discount than I would have requested. Give it a try, you’ve got nothing to lose. If they get nasty, just tell them you’ll be returning the damaged dryer for a complete refund and then get another one some where else. Eddie |

Congratulations on your new washer. THis model is excellent and I'm sure you will also love it. Run away from the "normal" cycle, use hot water and bleach always you can, leave the door ajar between uses and you'll never have issues with mold. |

If I read right, you bought the LG washer. I also bought a LG fairly recently. Mine has Turbo washer, and steam. You will find that it is better to leave the turbo wash feature on all the time. it ensures better saturation of the clothes. The steam is great for stains, as well as the Sanitary cycle is great for homes with sick folks. I use the sanitary cycle for my whites, set on extra hot, and they come out exceptionally white. Hugs,

Here is the dent - not big but irritating to me. Also the unpainted rusty spot. And the foot. I’m going to call BB tomorrow but the box was in perfect condition. It had to have been packed at the factory like this. |

Please let me know if I’m overreacting about the Maytag. Honestly I’m so thrilled with the washer. I knocked out a ton of laundry in no time. Thanks everyone for the advice. |

If you keep the dryer at least get a decent discount on it for the issues. I too would opt for the matching LG dryer at some point. |

I wondered when you would chime in with that! I just have to say - that’s really rude. We provide for our family and don’t use your tax dollars. I wish I could have more but I’m too old now. 😪 |

My Maytag dryer is the model just under yours, the difference being that yours has moister sensors to defect the level of dryness, mine has a thermo sensor. And I might add I replaced my LG dryer with this Maytag. In all honesty, I like the Maytag much better. It drys faster and more accurately, never any damp items left when the dryer cycles off using the Auto Dry. The LG took longer and had way more settings than I would have ever needed or used.
So, if you can get a fair discount for the damage, and you don’t mind having a mismatched set, you may want to consider keeping the Maytag, if you are happy with its performance. Lastly, I totally agree with you. The comment made earlier by another member about Family Planning was rude and uncalled for. The size of your family is your choice. You have every right to be offended, and I’m sorry that this comment was made, you didn’t deserve it. Eddie |

And I made a grocery run this morning and got Persil pods, tide HE turbo, and Ariel powder to try. Now onto washing bedding! I'm holding off on the fabric softener and scent beads.... I do love perfumed clothes though. |

Apparently I wisely decided long ago to block this "Bob" person's posts from view (I don't even know who he might be at this point) so I didn't see what he wrote, but it just validates my decision.
As for your Maytag being tinny, that's nothing new. When we bought an Amana set in 1997 (Speed Queen clones) the dryer was a rattle trap from day one. I had a service tech out early on while the machines were still under warranty. He happened to live nearby and was a reasonable guy and easy to talk with about appliances. He told me -- lo, those 21 years ago -- that dryers are "just tin" and not to expect the Amana to be anywhere near as quiet as our trusty Maytag HOH had been for 25 years or so until its bearings began to squeal.
Definitely pursue a discount or full replacement from Best Buy due to the defects on your Maytag. I have to wonder if employees at the factory get dinged if they kick a machine out of the packaging queue, so they send them out to market with defects instead. |

Melissa,
I couldn't respond earlier as I was trying to leave for work and also at work today. I was mortified to see the rude comment above.
Yes, I do believe the 3770 is being replaced. LG has just started placing their upcoming models on their web site--and thus far the 2 upcoming new ones don't have TurboWash, but I expect subsequent new models will.
If you're ever curious as to what the wash water temperature is on a load, there is a combination of buttons that will show the temperature in Celsius. I don't have the combination, but I would imagine some of the other LG owners can provide that information. Another button combination will yield spin RPM speed.
Personally, I'm very thankful you have a large family. Appears your family has been bountifully blessed on all sorts of levels. I will put you and your family on my prayer list for God to continue to bestow His blessings upon you and your family.
And remember, if you have questions, you know you can always ask and we will provide the information you seek.

even though your FL washer isn't on a pedestal nor is it matching, that they are basically the same height - aside from the back raised panel of the dryer.
I'm honestly not sure how 2 tbs of detergent would cause suds. I guess I'm used to my duet over the years hardly creating suds at all, and I use more than 2 tbs. I wouldn't think that's enough. I kept a scooping cup when I bought a huge bucket of sears power a long time ago, and I usually use 1 and 1/2 of those. It's not a large scoop and some here probably know what I'm talking about. I'm thinking if you saw suds you have soft water. You're right, you'll be able to knock out a LOT more laundry with that FL washer. EVEN IF you only fill it 75% full with dry clothes, which is what I do. I will have what looks like a huge amount of laundry to do. It looks like 5 loads, but it ends up being 3 loads, and my duet is smaller than that LG. Be sure to pull that detergent cup out and drain it if there's water in there and leave it pulled out too. I second calling Home Depot. Keep what you've got but get a discount on it. I was able to do this with my side x side fridge. It was like $1098 total and there was a super small dent in the front that I noticed AFTER it was installed. They gave $110 back for that. |

there is a segment of gay males who can be very bitchy, especially about kids and families. I'm guessing Bob is one of 'em! Oh well.
Also, uncalled for! Especially when you are aware that many members are gay males, myself included. Discretion is the better part of valor. Why would you want to purposely offend other members? Eddie |

I said a segment, not a majority! I have some gay friends, none of 'em are bitchy, but I have met a few gay guys who have an outright loathing of straight people and their families. Tiny unrepresentative minority, I'm quite sure! |
