It looks like this but not with the extended hose. I did get a hose but not the exact part that came out of the washer. The part I did get out of a newer model like a 1965 it may work but the part number I need is 17288. My repair guy said it was a hose dome.

The hose has a 1 inch insert in it and goes in the hole in the inter drum. It needs to fit exact or it will leak. This hose doesn't look like it has an insert. Kind of stupid that Whirlpool made this part as it is a very special hose. The insert fits snug in the drum hole. I have looked on Amazon, ebay craigs list and ever website I can find for discontinued parts with no luck. Someone needs to have the exact washer and wants to part out or someone has to have a discontinued parts company and has a part in stock. Like looking for a needle in a haystack!

I don't know if you already saw this but about 2/3 of the way down the page there is someone who supposedly has the part.

most any thing made has parts specific to their own design....

sometimes we can improvise with other items, and make it work....other times that is not the case...

but that's when you get creative!

Deltablu thank you for the info. I do see the hose listed and sent them a email that I found on the bottom of the page. I can't believe that part is listed as I have emailed and call several places and nobody has it. One guy said good luck you may never find that specialized part.

Figure the guy will email me back on Monday and let me know how to proceed. On the right side of the part listed it says to call but no number listed just password and username so I just emailed them.

Now to top it off my hot water heater is leaking and needs to be replaced. My dad bought it in 1983 so that is an old one and needs to be brought up to code. So I guess the hot water heater needs to be fixed first.

Here I was looking all over for this hose thinking there is no way I would ever find it and you guys gave me the site where it was. Yesterday it arrived and it as in a never opened Whirlpool bag from the factory with Whirlpool marking on the bag and the part number. It was like this site bought all the discontinued parts from Whirlpool as this was in the original bag. Now I can get the washer up and running again with no leaks. Thank you!
