Many thanks to our webmaster, Robert Seger, for coming over yesterday with the Escalara to help me swap out our basement stove. The GE is nice but pretty plain. Click/timer never worked and the buttons were seizing up. A few years back I found a replacement stove that needed some work. A 1957 Frigidaire. I had the Cookmaster rebuilt, found a replacement glass panel and replaced two switches and burners.

The GE was a 36 inch and the Frigidaire is a 30 inch so I am going to make a small filler cabinet/ counter to take up the space. It looks great and works great!

Thanks again, Robert!

GE needs a new home!

I hate to scrap the GE stove. It’s really nice. Very minimal use as this was a canning kitchen b the original owners. Does need a new electrical cord. Old one is very brittle. Cleaned it up and threw a tarp over it in the garage for the short term.

Any AW members that want this stove- FREE- let me know and you can pick it up in Minneapokis, MN.

Nice upgrade!  The GE truly is in beautiful shape, but there's no question that the Frigidaire is a far more attractive range.

Now the upstairs and downstairs are matchy-matchy! Love that 57, stunning range. Knowing Gary, this range is likely the cleanest in the neighborhood. Congrats on the change, definitely an upgrade.

Wow, Gary, that's a beauty of a Frigidaire range!  You need a Charcoal Cold Pantry now.... LOL

No more room!

Would love a Frigidaire Cold Pantry but I already have a nice basic 1957 Frigidaire in white. Space is pretty limited so this works. Plus it works great and I paid $60 for it 3 years ago!
