Hey Guys,

Hoping someone might have a suggestion here. The cold control on my '65 GE combination NON-Frost Free gave up the ghost recently (ran continuously, fridge items freezing). A whack of the knob would make things right until the next cycle.

The original was WR9X183. I ordered a Supco GC116 which claims to be an equivalent, but after installation, it never opens. Initially I thought I had the capillary tube installed wrong (tip in free air vs clamped to the evap coil framework) but that appears to make no difference.

I'm now questioning what the nominal 'out' setpoint should be on a generic control. Once source says the GC116 is 'out' at -10.5F. Sounds too cold I would think.
