I was told about an old Frigidaire being sold earlier today and I asked for photos. Once I saw them, I about hit the deck because Sheer Look Frigidaire is about my favourite design ever. For now, I presume this is a 1957 Frigidaire Super. Although I always wanted a '57 or '58 Imperial in Charcoal I believe I will probably buy this (they say it works but I really don't care)....I've never come across another one in 2 decades so if nothing else it will get a repaint and be a nice dry storage cabinet in my house.

Well Allen, one sure bet is that it's a lot more likely to cool than a frost-free model around that same age.

I get to see this model.  This is the exact fridge my paternal grandmother had.  She had to sell/move out of her house in 1964 due to future freeway coming right through her street (didn't become reality for nearly 30 years).  We acquired this fridge at that time to replace the 1948 Kelvinator.  We had this fridge until late 1960s when we got a Gibson SxS because this fridge was just too small for a family of 5.

I've been waiting all these years to finally see the exact 1957 model she had.

Your new fridge is the one that I’ve had in the basement for 3 years. It’s great!

Memories for you! And funny enough, the current owner of the fridge says she's selling because it's too small for 5 also. Ha!

Gary~ what is the model number?

I'm still trying to figure out if the one I'm considering is a '57 or a '58. The handle is somewhat longer on this one than that on yours...have you got more photos of yours?
