I think someone was looking for these... better move quick, they are free, and a set with the cabinet! They also have a GE 40" range, looks like later 60s.

wouldn't you know it. I have been waiting for that stove for years, and it's across the country from me! Wouldn't mind being the owner of that set of spacemates!
Hugs,
David

Bring a crane. These things are very heavy!

These are fun machines and the price is right.

The GE 40"range is TOL for 1969-72, a great range.

Spacemates...

Hi Jeff Hi John -

That Westinghouse SpaceMate set is actually under 2 hours from my Jersey location and I am truly tempted. Can either of you tell me anything about them? Would I be getting myself into heaps of headaches? My intention would be to have them fully functioning again.

I know they look pretty special (and pink...are they pink?). Were they infamous for any reasons? Or conversely, were they known for their dependability?

Were they sold or scrapped?

Hi Richard - thats a good question. He was giving them away for free, but he just used the words "they're gone", so I guess that could mean either.

And yes, I was truly tempted - in my snarky disappointment - to fire back something along the lines of: "well take the damn ad down then brother!" My cool-headed self is glad I didn't do that.

Hey there Chris - howsit going...

Yeah I was super deflated when he said they were gone. I'd heard of them but never seen any "in the wild". I've got this big fun project going restoring a 1959 condo I bought in Ft Lauderdale. It was quote-unquote upgraded sometime in the 1990s and of course they tore out all the original top-notch appliances and character in the place and replaced it with Home-Depot Super-Bland.

I've been on the hunt for both a GE Wonder Kitchen (which were originally installed by the architect in these condos in 1959) and the Westinghouse Spacemates. I know the odds are steep, but I'm determined to pull it together somehow.

I've never actually spoken with anyone who had a working set - do they run well?

Hey, please keep me in mind should you ever wish to part with yours? or hear of others available... I'm searching nation-wide! Very willing to pay whatever the right price is.

Johny
