Does anyone know where I can get a spare agitate arm for my 1-18? It runs pretty smooth now, but you never know! Also, I could use a new agitator as mine is chipped from the lint filter falling into the wash at some point in time.
Any parts companies out there still handling the old stuff?

Welcome

Dwight,

There are some knowledgeable people on here. Good luck finding parts, Some may say to get a donor machine for parts which is finding another 1-18. I have been told to get a donor machine to repair my 1964 dryer. There was a massive Frigdaire parts stash in Mississippi mentioned here and bought in April by a mysterious person that some people here know. Maybe that mystery person could have your parts but no one has heard anymore from the mystery buyer.

I found another 1-18 in the trash a couple weeks ago. It still looks nice and I thought it would be good for parts for the one mentioned above, however it has a chipped agitator and missing lint filter, as well as a loose agitator arm! So that ruled it out as being a donor. But, if I could find replacement parts, I could save this one as well!

IIRC the "mystery" Frigidaire partsman has sold several items on eBay. Search there using "Vintage Frigidaire" and see what comes up. If not him, then some one is selling quite allot of vintage Frigidaire parts on a regular basis. You can always contact this seller and see if he has what you need.

Best of luck,

L.

The person selling the Frigidaire parts on eBay is Rich C. (TrainGuy). Two different people altogether.

Launderes,

I too saw the E bay seller and I thought it was the mystery Frigidaire partsman.

Westytoploader,
You are right. The E bay seller posting now is Rich C. I found that out a few days ago. Back to my original post, there was that Mississippi Frigidaire parts E bay auction which stirred a lot of posting here and the mystery buyer who I was last told on here was still cataloging the parts. That was a month after the April 25th auction. I wished I had bought the parts because I would be sharing its treasures here.

Rich

Those are some of the same parts I need for my WIC-A, along with a new clutch and snubber assembly. On my other one, I definitely need a new bellows and unfortunately new bearings.....

Why dont somebody open a factory that makes only vintage washer parts? They would make a killing with just us.Don

The clutch is on eBay now. Which set of bearings do you need?

BTW, I have a friend that works at a machine shop and is good friends with the owner, I have already spoken with him, and all I have to do is get him a new part to get measurements from.. Business is slow for them and this could work out as a good deal for both of us.
It may be somewhat costly at first, but if we can get a large quantity made we would never have any worries!
One thing I hate to do is give up, and I usually find a way around the NLA stuff.
