Hey Toggleswitch,

Sorry to bother you, but, being a native New Yorker myself, I'm embarrased to admit I have no idea where one goes to look at used/vintage appliances. Do you know of any stores or graveyards in the NY area? I assumed there would be warehouses in Queens, especially up Northern Boulevard but I haven't found any. Any leads would be appreciated.

If any of you are up in my area on the Connecticut Shoreline be sure to check out Carl's collection at Northeast Appliance Recyclers in North Branford. He's at 27 Ciro Road right off of route 80.

You want to go up my Northern Boulevard? OMG

Dahlink, we need to take you to the hood. That is the place to be. I have found some cool spots in Richmond Hill, Queens, Jamaica Queens and Washington Heights (Manhattan) with jsut such used appliance places.

Also. You should only see the faboo 50's (and earlier) gas stoves that get curbed, as well.

I will get some addresses...maybe you'd want to go exploring! Do I smell a field-trip brewing?

Shoot me a private email....Maybe we can make a field trip to see that appliance store by you, and I can pick up that used Farberware convection oven(for parts) that we spoke of a few months back.

Field trips are good. I will be coming to NYC more often this fall as I need to look in on an ailing parent. I will need plenty of "down" time; Washington Heights, the other Jamaica(who knew?) and Richmond Hill( I thought that was Brooklyn?) sound just far enough away from the lower East Side to work.

And Gadget, I haven't forgotten about you. The oven is buried under two years of crap in the basement so as soon as I get to it I'll send you a pic, you can come up and get it and we can go to the indoor appliance graveyard.
