Thank you Fredrik for sharing this. Could you please take a few pictures of the control panel of that old Zanussi washer? I would love to see what the cycles are like and how the timer looks.

Blomberg

Fredrik, Thank you very much for the videos, Very interesting.what i admire more however is the build quality of older machines which eventually dropped a lot over the years.
My parents had a 1000rpm blomberg bought in 1984 which lasted 16 years doing a wash every day. And then blomberg produced those digitronics full of electronic failures, they bought one in 2000 and had it for 4 years and had to change the electronc 2 times.
Now they have a miele. And Blommberg was sold in Turkish Arcelic which produce the BEKO brand and newer blombergs in Turkey.

What about the quality of asko/cylinda? They claim to last 20 years but i see quite a new machines thrown away.

Which is the best quality washing machine u can buy today?

Its absolute so that older machines was more well built than the ones sold today. One example: old machines often have stainless or atleast metal tub, while newer often have plastic. Only good thing about that: if a coins falls between the drum and the tub theres less sound when spinning.

Beko, ugh, i,ve had one a few yers ago. Not good machine at all. The weight got loose and completely destroyed the plastic tub.

Sadly the quality on the Cylinda/Asko has been gradually worse through the years. Its like Blomberg, often the electronics that fails in the machines. Motor failures is also common in Cylinda/Asko.

The best machine you can buy today is probably Miele, but then again, they cost alot.

At home, i have a 3 years old Siemens washing machine that starts having the bonkers. There is something wrong with the motor. When the machine stops working, i will buy a Miele. My girlfriend is having fits about the Siemens machine, especially when it spins.
