Here i have taken a photo where you can see the most common reason Blomberg machines are thrown away so often. I have made a little experiment: checking out these cards on all Blomberg machines i have recycled.
The results have been like this
10 machines total:
5 machines: burnt/charred control card 3 machines: Bearing failure. Notice: in one of them the motor was faulty also. 1 machine: coins stuck in pump, had destroyed pump 1 machine: Fire. The machine had caught fire. Undknown reason, but the motor seemed suspect.
This is not a good prognoses. These machines are quite expensive and is said to be good as Miele. Sure, this 10 owners might have had bad luck, but its still unacceptable.
This isnt confined to Blomberg. There are loads of module and bearing failures on current machines. You've only got to look through ebay to see the amount of Zanussi AEG Indesit Servis etc machines that come up under two years old with failed and burnt out modules or bearings. I see so many and the module repairers are having a booming business. I'm sure there never used to be such a problem as bad as this. Here is my Servis machine with a burnt module shown below. Repaired now and working fine but the design of the contacts is so that they burn out if the get moisture in them. So its best to rewire the origianl with proper terminals. Steve
