About 3 weeks ago I had a problem with on of the L G Tromm machines.. It would not do anything but display a call for service message. When I called for service I was told that it would be 7 to 10 working days before they could have anyone here. I told her that the machine was needed very badly . Very rudely she snapped back "We don't care how bad you need the machine, all service calls are worked on as called in . You have 48 calls before your turn Do you understand" When I asked to speak to the Supv. she said " I am the Supervisior" and she hung up.. I called everday and was told I am on the list... Yesterday, 12 days later The service man comes in. He was very nice and friendly .Sees what the machine is doing and proceeds to repair it. That took about 5 min. After he finished he says this is a warranty call and there is no charge. I ask what was the problem with the machine, And he says this is a warranty problem there is no charge. It is VERY hot in this plant and he was having problems with the heat so I invited him in to my office and gave him a Coke,. He then told me I am told not to tell what the problem is if it is a warranty problem I am sorry , I really am. Although very nice the whole time this entire thing has me a bit P.O. ... It seems as though that Lg feels that if you are not charged for service you have no right to know what is being replaced of what the problem is with your machine. I really don't think L G will be our choice for 2 more washers I am going to buy in January,,, Has anyone else had service problems like this with L G ?

Perhaps they are trying to curb word-of-mouth rumors and theories. Unless one knows ALL the details it is generally best not to talk/judge.

I have found that the poeple who are least mechanically inclined/informed are the first ones to jump to a conclusion, often erroneously.

Yay to self-preservation and the co. trying to otherwise save their reputation. BOO to how the customer gets treated.

Sorry you had to endure such non-sense.

Your not the only one

I had the same problem with there call center, rude unprofessional is putting it litely. I work in this industry and have our worked call center from time to time and would never think of saying the things I went through with them. It was a month before a tech came to look at my washer and dryer. I myself got one of the techs I deal with daily to go out of his normal area to my home to look at these, then he had no support from them to find the issues at hand and he was one of their authorised warraty techs and someone who I would recomed to others. And to add more to this story this would be the second replacement set from LG.The first set had the same problems crop up after 6 months of use, and it's not like it's a big family here myself and two dogs and a few house guests.
We get alot of calls from servicers and home owners all over the country wanting to know if we handle LG the ansewer is no they do there own parts and thank God!!! Most eveyone who took on the line for service work has dropped them for not having support and not getting paid on there jobs. I sold my set to some lady in the neighborhood a few months back with all the problems up front, she didn't care she wanted them badly. well I see that set was sitting on the curb here a few weeks back.

Funny I like the engineering and the styling too, but I always have reservations about a new brand-name.

And sure enough, here comes the trouble............

LG

I think LG and also Samsung have very poor service here in the UK too. The machines i Love but aftersales is terrible to non existant. Long waits for engineers and no help if you ring up for Something. Shame really. I decided not to buy my new Lg dishwasher after all.

I have the LG 3677 combo for over 2 years now. After 11 months I had to get service to fix a slow leak comming from the door. 3 months ago the same problem happened but it took 9 days before I got the service to come in. It is disapointing that this company has such service issues. Both times the guy tightened the door. Their is obviously few people that do service on these machines which is sad. While I like the product it isnt worth it if you have to wait forever to get service. I had thought it was going to get better but appearantly not.
