I finally defeated the lid switch on the modern hitachi just recently and took a vid of it revving up for final spin which is about 800 rpms. These videos are old and have been my camera for ages waiting to be uploaded, i have sinced moved house and have started using the older Hitachi i had ( it needed a new motor and a comestic clean up) and it now works like a dream. I am however purchasing a Whirlpool front loader in the near future.
Enjoy the vids
someone tell me if this link does not work

Great videos! That Hitachi really moves the clothes around during agitation.

mini Oasis

The tub ring looks like a mini version of the Oasis. Even has the long back-and-forth motions. That's one workhorse washer.

Rub Action

Wow that wash action looks very fun and drama filled! Is it me or does that wash action looks very harsh? Maybe this is the opposite of what Frigidaire in 1956 meant by "Rub-Free Wash Action".

the wash action is hash when you've packed the tub full lol, that was a packed full load, designed to see how all the clothes are moved around when packed in. The Towel load in previous videos (check youtube library) is a bit better. The rub factor is quite high but its never damaged any of my clothes.
