Just bought a new GE portable dishwasher at Lowe's.
I tried it out this past evening and it really works well, althought the dishes weren't that dirty.Works far better than the old D&M 1983 Kenmore we used to have.
Came with trial pack of Cascade Complete. Filled up rinse agent dispenser with some old Jet-Dry I had. Didn't think that I was going to have enough dirty dishes for its first load, but found that to be false. No it wasn't a Bobload, but I had some fairly bulky items like mixing bowls, measuring cups, and a skillet that used all the available space. It's things like that that made me glad I bought a standard 24" size over the 18" size I first was considering. Thought another 24" was going to be too big but I was wrong. Yes,that additional 6" of width DOES make a big difference.

Oh,and the best part? I guess you're wondering how much I paid.
Well,it was originally $367....
clearance priced at $356....
BUT because they are being discontinued....
they took half off...yes HALF OFF!
I got a NIB portable dishwasher for (are you ready)$178!

Does it have a tower or towerless design?

Congratulations and good choice. I thinkk you'll be pleased overall.

It has a tower that pops up in the middle of the bottom rack to feed the upper spray arm.

This is the same model I have

and I am pleased with it. Not the best dishwasher I have had, but far from the worst.

It is surprisingly quiet for a portable, and good with water. I generally do not use the water heat boost, unless I've done a load of laundry an hour or so earlier.

DO always use an enzyme detergent. Makes an enormous difference. Enormous. A friend gave me a bottle of an off-brand chlorine gel detergent, and cleaning performance suffered greatly.

For me, the "weakest link" has been tall glasses on the top rack, which I have solved, by going to shorter glasses!

Ge Dishwasher

I have a GE Dishwasher it's mid priced and I tell you it sucks. I have had so many things go wrong with this washer.

I also suffer from food getting traped inside, sometime I run it without dishes to clean it out. Also be careful of how you load it.My glasses won't come clean in the back of the dishwasher. Good luck with your dishwasher,I'm replacing my unit very soon, I hate my dishwasher. P.S for best cleaning I use cascade complete.

My dear,
Read the original post in this thread and then reread what you wrote. What feeling did you expect to invoke with your post, directed at someone who is sharing their joy at a well bought machine? It feels a bit hurtful to me, and I know that is not what you wanted to be.
