The owner wrote me and told me that Kitchenaid told them they think this might have been a "Test" Color that was available for a short time.
Anyone heard of this?
I think that it is a horrible shade of Pink.

Look at that PRICE! Wishful thinking, isn't it?
I don't think that pink was an option even in 1976. I think this is probably a custom paint job.
Now Kitchenaid does have some small appliances in Pink, such as mixers and potholders, but not major appliances.

Barff!!!!

That really is a gross color....reminds of the dusty rose and country blue we suffered through in the 80's...what were we thinking!!

OMG !

How difficult would it be to spray paint 2 DW panels. Or more likely to alter the picture with certain software.
Still it kind of reminds you of that show "Mama's Family" in the 1980s with Betty White and Judy_______ from the Carol Burnett Show(sorry, terrible with names). Her kitchen had a bottom freezer /refrigerator from the 60s in Pink and a pink stove.

That was a

"custom" colour, and a terrible, terrible pic.

Even if I wanted that machine, the pic would turn me off.

I think the seller is on some good drugs.

It is a knob, Bob!

This looks like a KDI-17 series, most likely painted pink either because they messed up the boob picture and just finished it with all pink or, more likely, they were matching other appliances in the kitchen at the time. I found a KDS-17a quite a while ago that had been painted PANK to match the ovens and cooktop original to the house.

Some of those finishes are horrible.

Yikes is my word dujour.... Anyway on to the pink. I think what disturbs me as much as the price is the fact that the guy created that ebay ID yesterday. $500 with no feedback history? I doubt he could sell it for $50 with a new ID.

Just my 2 cents.
