I've been looking for a stackable front load w/d(gas) for a closet with only 32.5" of usable space from rear wall to closet door. There's no problem on width or height, but I can't fit a deep machine. Almost all the pairs are 30"+ and the installation instructions require several inches in front and back (even with a side vent which I want to use). I don't want a compact because the load is too small. I'm looking for a 3.5 cu ft, but with no luck. Also, I need a dryer that can vent on the left (which knocks out frigidaire b/c the gas line is on the left).

I was looking at the Maytag MAH6700AWW, but after reading the posts I think it would be a very poor choice b/c of all the problems.

CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A GOOD QUALITY, STACKABLE, FRONT LOAD W/D MODEL THAT WILL FIT (INSTALLED) IN A SPACE ONLY 32" DEEP?
Price is not an issue, but quality and performance are. THANKS!!!

Check out Frigidaire GLTF2940E/GLGQ2152E

I own the Kenmore twins, albeit with an electric dryer. The installation documents would indicate that these machines fit your space requirement. The link is for the dryer document, to get the washer use the same URL with filename 134762900ef.pdf. I have owned mine for about 15 months and am quite satisfied.

I reread the post and saw the Frigidaire prohibition. Sorry.

thanks; still looking - any thoughts about GE?

thanks for the responses. it's not as easy as you'd think. I'm just a little too small for the newer 30" models, and don't want to go down to a compact. GE has a small washer/dryer which holds 3.1 cu ft. I'd rather get a full size, but....
