Oh for god sakes
You guys, I'm just being silly. When I was kid and I would spill something on the sofa or otherwise mess something up in the house my mother would look at me and sigh and say "I guess I'm just not meant to have nice things". That was the ultimate in jewish mother guilt. The saying of course is really meant to produce the opposite result.
