Well its here, in my house. Its the most fantastic washing machine ever i swear to god. It has a lot of cycles and a Quick cycle that allows you to set the tempreture up to 60*! It arrived this morning and i have done three loads so far. But the best thing about it, it only does 2 rinses but these rinses are DEEP i mean we are talking Hoover Logic water levels on both rinses. I couldn't believe my eyes.
This washing machine does a fantastic job on washing because even tho the quick cycle is supposed to be only 32 minutes, it still washes clothes fantastically clean with a nice long 850 rpm spin at the end. Here are a few pics of the machine doing its thing. I will upload some video as soon as i can. Youtube is quite slow at uploading videos.
Matt

VIDEO

Heres a video of it washing mixed colors at 40* on Daily Mixed, the entire cycle took about 1 hour, not bad. It makes such a nice smooth motor noise as it tumbles and the spin revving up is divine. When it reches final spin it goes straight up to the set spin speed, no messing about going up in stages. Love this machine. Keep and eye on my YouTube proifle coz more videos are coming.

Looks visually similar in design to the Duet series, but with a hint of FridGEmore thrown in. I wonder if it shares any of the same internals with the Duet's.

Spin Speed

Cool washer but 850rpm seems quite a low spin sped for a front loader. do the clothes come out quite wet?

Matt... beautiful machine. I know you've been wanting a good old frontloader for ages... was thinking about you today knowing you would have been playing with it :-). Have to say I like the motor noise - is very vintage sounding. Am looking forward to more videos - you know we want them! :-).

Jason - those machines are made by Whirlpool in their European factories... hence the similarity to the Duets :-). The Duets are basically big brother versions of the European Whirlpools.

Cbosch... remember that Matt lives in Australia, and he tells me that even with a "slow" speed of 850rpm everything will dry on the line within minutes so there isn't a real need for a faster spin like there is in our climate here where the majority of us use tumble dryers or clothes horses in winter.

Hi, mattywashboy . :-)

I was sure I had already commented on this, but it looks like a very nice machine. :-) Does sound quite vintage – and I don’t mean that in a bad way. :-) Sounds functional. :-)

We had a Whirlpool once and had no problems whatsoever. I would say it was better than the Bosch we had.

Our Whirlpool had just an 800 rpm spin, and that really was more than good enough. Nice, nice machine. Definitely one of my favourites. I think Whirlpools are often overlooked, and independent engineers I’ve spoken to have no problems with Whirlpools either. Far, far better than anything churned out by Indesit Company.

Carl

A Glamour Shot!
I just realized how to turn the flash off on my camera (like a year after getting it lol). Also there is one more video on my Youtube profile of the water level for the rinses.
Enjoy

Matthew, that rinse level looks almost exactly like the "Steve 1-18 enhanced" later level setting on my Fridgemore!!!, even in the washes.

Vintage sound

LOL, oh you youngsters!!

Matt, I like that machine. If the sound of a 90's machine is vintage I can agree. LOL

I love the water level in the rinses. How many rinses does this machine have? And how often does it spin between rinses?

How do you like frontload washing so far?

Thanks for sharing the videos.

Louis

kick ass water levels matt...like you say very similar to my logic. did u say EVERY rinse is like that? do u know the water consumption?! and does ur intensive rinse button increase water level or just extend rinsing time as well as an additional rinse like i read in a whirly manual?

THE SAME!!! :-DD

Matt, incredible that control panel is the same as my TL (TLHA AWT 8104 D)... same programs, same funcions... (temperatures, and spin are set on knob with mine, no pushbuttons)

When I say that if you wash shirts/blouses on Synthetics cycle(40°C,700rpm) you get it out really wrinkefree do I say the truth?!?!?And without using EasyIroning function, just hung it on linedry... one hour and you have got your whas-n-wear shirt without putting them in dryer or need to iron them!
And it happens the same with the cotton ones I wahs togheter with the same Synthetics cycle...

The only uglyness is the Cotton cycle...2h!! But only with max temp and the prewash too, otherwise not much longer than 1h!

Have nicest and most wonderful wash with it!!! :-D

Louis- i am loving front load washing so far, my clothes really feel clean and my whites are pristine.
Rinse spinning is two short bursts between every rinse. I first thought this was a little pathetic but it seems to work okay.

Darren- this machine rinses twice on the Daily and the Rapid cycles and both of these rinses is at the water massive water level. If you select Intensive you get an extra rinse which makes a total of three. I don;t know about the cotton cycle tho, maybe that has normal level water and three set rinses??

Anyway, more videos to come of spins and suc, just finding the time to upload them all :)
Matt

Matt... that's a brilliant rinse level, very similar to the fill level I can programme into the Miele. Would be interested to hear if it fills that high on the standard cycles too... a lot of machines over here have one "eco" cycle that the Energy Label rating is tested on and the other cycles will use a lot of water!

Keep us updated with the vids :-).

Take care,

Jon

hi, nice machine
the water level in my hotpoint is twice that, its amazing what you can do with a small screwdriver and a pressure switch.
when i have a house with a water meter i will nock it back to original levels.

Matt I love your enthusiasm. I think I"m gonna wash a load in the Fridgemore tonight just cuz. How long have ya had Jock, he's a cutie. Lokes very loveable!!! And you aren't tubby looking. Your too hunky for that, but then again I'm biased. Bob

Matt.. ditto to Bob. I wish I wasn't so camera shy otherwise I'd share exactly the same sort of vidoes... your commentaries are top class and they really add character to your videos. I can just see the excitement on your face... I think we can all relate to that here on the group - the excitement of a new machine! You didn't know whether to look at the machine or the camera... hehe.

BTW, was that Kyle interrupting in the middle of the video? :-).

Take care of yourself, will see you on MSN very soon. Sorry I haven't talked much this weekend. been real busy with college work.

Matt had to watch it twice more. So, are you now converted to a front load fan. Was great to see you on the floor. Now you can fully understand why I just laid there in front of the GE Combo at the Texas Wash-in recently. I'd lay on the floor with my Fridgemore, but witht he pedestal, it's a little bit too hig for me, hence me sitting in my video chair on the floor :-) Sing it peanut gallery, FRONT LOADERS ARE ADDICTIVE!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!!!!

Bob... I can often be caught in the same position on the floor in front of my machines!

Cool Machine Matt

aquarius1984's profile picture
well done! Back to good ol automatic! Lol. Great vid. I saw the one with Jock in. Maybe I too should confess. When im home alone I very often make a coffee, put a load in the Hottie and sit cross legged in from of it. Hehe. Gets VERY scary when its very OOB like earlier today. A heavy jumper clumped on one side of the drum. The machine leapt out 3 inches at me when I put the dial on the last notch of the long spin. The motor hit the worktop so hard the bang was tremendous. Left me quivering I can tell you. . . . . Nick
