I think there is a slight possibility that it could be. I might be wrong but I believe there is a site that still sells new wringer washers and Amana might just be the brand. Dick_S. |

I made us all a movie this morning. In a panning shot of the basement that very machine may be included. I'll know later. Mine has the same decal labels, only mine reads Speed Queen. It's six years old, bought it new at the Kolipinski Brothers Maytag closeout sale. I always thought that MAYTAG would make you a Classic Wringer for $650. Geoff says no, and I believe him. Crosley sold new Wringers recently. But the rumor persists that someone is still making Wringer Washers. If not Maytag, then who? Amana/Speed Queen. Anyhoo, it's a wonderful machine with very fast agitation, powerful wringing, but the pump is slow and the drain port small. Maybe Oldwasherguy will come to the rescue. |

I'm not sure what company is making these now, they are based on the old SpeedQueen design but manufactured in Saudi Arabia (?) and then were imported naked and assigned labels as needed. Crosley is a niche brand for independent dealers and obviously sourced these like all their other appliances & electronics. We saw one of these, wearing an Amana g-string I think, at one of the estate sales at the Minneapolis convention.
