well i found this ka dw for 25 bucks on craigslist last year and the lady said it didnt wash well any more.. so got it home and the pump was clogged with cat hair.. it then ran just fine so i put her in the house.. was wonderfull till about 3 weeks ago.. i thought it was a timer prob installed a new timer but she still has a mind of her own.. i need some ideas of what to tinker with next... mod # KUDJ230YWH3.. these probs are off and on again so im not sure... when you start the machine it will either be fine or it will only fill 1/4 full and try to wash or she will sometimes fill then drain then fill then drain over and over till you reset the timer..or sometimes its like the heat booster will get stuck and it will run for an hour and the timer wont advance and the water is like boiling in there.. now i did notice that the push button switches feel funny and i you jiggle them while its running the machine sometimes wants to cut out and stop running?? any ideas

Disconnect the machine from power and plumbing, remove from cabinet. Discard. Replace machine with either your KDS-17 or the beautiful Westinghouse. Done.

;-)

I agree with Gansky1

Go For the Westinghouse. Very nice dishwasher. Mike

Maybe the timer is still the problem. A defective re-build maybe? Sounds like bad contacts somewhere.

Hi there,
Yep, it sounds like the timer is bad. However, is this a computer controled board? I can't remember from the model number, but was thinking this is a computer chip, rather than a timer.
Sounds like no matter if it is a computer chip, or a timer, either is bad.
Time to change it out.
Search Ebay. They have parts.
Best of luck.
If you need to install a vintage machine....Put a "Club" on it so your mom can't use it?
Brent

Maybe cat hair has gathered under the float and does not let it return to the fully down position so when it fills, the float rises before the tank is filled, shutting off the water, maybe?

Toggle-

Cats are like the best ovens---

They are both self-cleaning!

However, never try to clean a cat in an oven. Would not be good for either the cat or the oven. ^_^
