Zanussi Z918T...The Appliance of Science!!!!

chestermikeuk's profile picture
Now heres a blast from the past, a very solid and quiet induction motor machine...its an 800 spin machine...

The sales coding for this Zanussi was: Z918T =
Z = Zanussi
9 = 9 ITCL wash programes
1 = 1 extra option and denotes a modular 1 cabinet (2 meant cabinet with plinth & decor frame etc)
8 = 800rpm spin speed
So like Hotpoint & Hoover you could use it as a "Silent Salesman" and prompt you to work out what features each machine had!!!

Thanks for sorting me out Mike

It's nice that someone can just accept my stupidity....

I just thought both of these two were possible projects - a little too far away from me......

Today I'm excited because I have internet at my teaching desk - year 11s were doing a past paper in silence and I spent the time quietly looking at aw.org and surfing e-bay....shhh! don't tell OFSTED!!!

*Calls OFSTED* ;-)

Nick! I’ll get on to them right away! ;-)

Crumbs! When I had to invigilate with a teacher for a group of Year 9s who were not in school for an exam on the original exam date, and I had to make do with a bunch of ICT papers to sit through and read! It went like this: “Oh, Carl – while you invigilate with this, could you read through this for me and hand out extra sheets of paper to any pupil that needs it, please?” Bah! You lucky so-and-so, Nick! ;-) hehe (Joking! :-))

Oh - washers! LOL

My grandmother had a Zanussi like that from 1980 onwards. I cannot remember the model number, but it was wonderfully quiet a smooth. :-)

It only went up to about 500/600rpm, but it could spin up to full speed from a standing start, which I found fascinating. Could anyone tell me what model that might have been? I have some old booklets here, but I do not think I have the manual. :-(
