With the '08 series Maytags, the bleach dispenser was moved to the left side, made a larger, triangular shape and was simply a funnel into the outer tub rather than a storage and dillution tank as on earlier models. The dillution process took approximately 5 minutes to be completely dispensed into the wash-water. Oddly, a similar system was used on the Maytag combo but not through the pump as it was only active during drain/spin/dry cycles. There was a hose from the front, left side of the drum into the dispenser and another from the dispenser to the sump under the machine. The tumbling action inside the drum caused a pumping of the water through the hose at the front, pushing the water through the dispenser and into the sump where it was further dilluted in the drum with the water & clothes. |
