On the Washerhelp website there was a section on how to Identify the age of your washer by the Serial No.

I cant find this anymore..... can anyone help me and explain how to do this. I know it mentioned Hoover and Hotpoints but I cannot remember how its done.

My Hotpoints label on the door..... im sure this machine is from 1994 as the label on the lid states too

Nick

Hey Nick/All

Not too sure on Hotpoint but 94 is bout right :)

Hoover used the same system as on their cleaners unti about 95.

The 1st number after the model number is the year and the next 2 are the month. The Logic I recently saved has a serial along the lines of A3636806xxxxx

Model=A3636
Year=8(1988)
Month 6(June obviously)

The remainder is unique to that particular example.

Seamus
