Hi folks, I'm new to this site and was perusing the internet for an unrelated topic, but came across an article, written 50 years ago, which I thought would be well received in this forum. It's funny how, after 50 years, big business (espeically in the large appliance field)hasn't changed. Bryan

I have been writing on the Bendix company and history of the automatic washer and its development. This is a key article I am glad you found and shared it to us all!

Thanks for sharing the article about the sale of Bendix. It literally brought a few tears to my eyes. I grew up with Bendix and was always fascinated by its operation -- especially in the few old houses where the Bendix was bolted to a wooden kitchen floor. They were great machines and the ONLY company to successfully make a combo washer/dryer.

And Thor was another company mentioned in the article. Kinda of like the Studebaker automobile -- ahead of its time.

Thanks again for sharing.
