I know these Hotties were never the best rinsers but give them a dose of Persil and the results are as good as any other machine.

This is the video of the wash I did with Cyclon and is at the last rinse stage for you to see the rinse performance.

Ive stopped using Super Rinse for the past week or so and have not noticed any redcution in rinse performance, in fact i feel better not using it as more often than not the drum is empty of all suds and water by the time the 2nd of 2 intermit spins it does on each rinse.

Super sometimes leaves a drop in.

anyway....enjoy the vid.

Hi Nick

Thanks for the video.

Nice final rinse water level and I liked the way it goes to ditribute / drain from that level. Was that Super rinse level or normal? That water is far too frothy for my liking!

I feel that the machine is taking a while to drain. From what I saw and heard, the tub hadn't finished draining before the machine kicked into first spin. Maybe the pump is less efficient than it oncewas. Or could the drain hose be squashed at the back? Mabe there an air pocket or obstruction in the outlet if it connects straight to the bottom of the sinks? Did the sump assembly all go back in ok? Or is the video just misleading?

Hope you're keeping well Nick. Not impressed with the rinse of those cyclon tabs. Was that with one or two? You may have got away with just using one as the load looks smallish. I usually use just one tablet apart from on really gross loads.

Would be prepared to sell you the Hotpoint I have if you want it, just say the word...or I'll keep it for you for sometime in the future for when you have room for it. I think the fun for me was in getting it to work again but I doubt I'll ever do anything with it now so someone else might as well enjoy it :-) There are still two jobs to do on it....the outer case needs a sand down and respray and the auto prewash select button is buggered.

Nick

Supermarket own brands...... hmmmmmm Im afraid to say although Ive stopped using super im still pretty funny about getting that perfect rinse despite having un-sensitive skin to a degree.
And im not impressed with these at all, It took 8 rinses to shift the suds and get a nice clear rinse I was satisfied with.
That was the super rinse level selected although crazily it was a touch higher than usual.

The sump assembly seemed to go back together as it came off but I cant say for sure. The drain hose is in properly, whoever installed this machine in this house 3 years ago put the drain hose right down the stanpipe at the back so I adjusted that and now check it almost daily until the crease in the hose falls out LOL im worried it will fall out until a new crease forms PML!

Im assuming the pump is getting worn and showing its age but I refuse to replace it. Its simply not worth the hassle or the money I believe for how common thses are.

Thankyou for the Hottie offer, If I was to take you up on it it may be with you for at least the next 2 years or so with the possibility of going to uni next year. Il let you know more when I know more myself. Would this 2 years be a problem?

If it is im sure I can come up with something somehow- just not sure what.

Although its a shame you dont use it as your daily driver! I could never keep such a piece in storage knowing I could have a good ol vintage session daily PML, The Zanni would have been sold on before its next wash had I have stumbled across the Libby.

Anyway Nick, I hope you are well too? How was France? Im assuming you have been, (remember you sayong you were going at christmas

Im fine as usual, just getting ready for the week at Mums im so looking forward to.
Hopefully if I can I will try to get some LG vids done.... may be hard to get but im sure a promise of a drink down the local might get my folks away for an hour or so, when I can pop back and capture one LMAO.

Watch this space.

Nick

Oh I forgot to say it was with 2 tabs..... im a rum bugger..... im scared of using 1 tab in case it does not clean well enough yet 2 tabs dont rinse lol.

Im sticking with my powders now.

About 4 washes left of Persil colour liquigel and then im on to Colour powder as a daily driver, at least it rinses better and Im sure it cleans better. shame is the fact I cany get it in a bigger box than 3kg.

and Ive sucessfully stopped using double the amount of concentrated Comfort.
and not noticing the scent fading too much.
YAY!!!!

Oh yeah, I went to France.

I got about six fabric conditioners. Most are naff, but I like the blue `Minidou' and the Soupline `Lavande des Collines' - classic lavender scent.

I bought Le Chat megaperls, which only have blue perls in. This is different to the German Persil megaperls (blue and green) and different again to our own (ex) Sainsburys perform (just green!) What do the perls do anyway? The scent is the exact same.

I bought Ariel Alpine! Yep, they still have that. But BEST of all, I got hold of some Ariel futur - now sold in a box and called Ariel Poudre Compact. Same scent, same product. One of my fave detergents of all time......I am overjoyed to be whites washing with that wonderful scent wafting through the house.

Cheers

Nick

I noticed that in france they sell loads of the old style Arielk detergents, i love the old scent of ariel, was using it till this year when they changed my then favourite Ariel which i used to buy in big boxes, to a new logo which the scent is absolutely putrid and ewwwwww, the old ariel had a sort of sweet clean grassy fresh fragrance, but the new ariel has a sort of sour piercing smell. i miss ariel futur, i remember my mum used it for a while back in 1997 (nearly 10 years ago) it was an amazing detergent, mum used to buy in small bags and we used to pour it into the ariel tin which sadly got thrown away :(

i would like to go to france to get some French Ariel, Ariel Alpine powder, tablet and liquid :D as well as germany they sell the lenor mystery scents collection

Morrisons Cyclon... used that once before, threw the box away after just one wash! Wouldn't even clean my floor with it LOL.

You know better Nick to stick to proper detergent :-P.

Have a good Christmas,

Jon

Yeah, I've found that own brand dishwasher powders aren't actually that bad... force of habit to buy Finish though!
