Hi everyone

I thought it would be a nice idea to do a thread on particular makes. Any pics, recent or old, information and videos you have on Hoover would be great. I am of course British, but info on Hoover worldwide would be great.

Please see link below of what wikipedia says.

Take care

Rob

Pic attached (not very good) is the 1979 Hoover A3060(I think) 1100rpm.

Hoover washing machines just a few years later in 1982. Notice how the door has become flush.

Going back in time to 1974. Here is a catalogue pic from 1974. This features the Keymatic of the time. Both spin about 700-800rpm.

Nice drum shot that was introduced to the ecologics and later the new wave models.

Heres a pic of my machine that unfortunately i've now moved on because of a modular fault. the ground breaking Newwave model which was the only washing machine to given the ecolabel! My particular favourite feature was the spin washing. for those who are unsure what this is. about 5 or more times in the wash the machine will go up to distribution speed and then speed up to 400rpm for 5seconds! i love this model!

That last one must have been from the early 70s. What a great find.

BTW I have sent you a message to your hotmail with some pics.

Here is a clip posted by a someone who I think used to be on this site. I love seeing these old machines.

I'm actually looking for a good home for this machine. I'm not in a hurry, but I don't have the skills and the patience to restore it. I mailed Sean and Keith because they have a wanted ad on their website. If you want to you can be #2 on the list in case they don't want it. Biggest problem is you would have to pick it up in the northern part of the Netherlands. Shipping would be too much of a hassle I think. Another problem is that there are some parts missing. The timer is working ok though and so is the motor. I've let it perform a spincycle a few times.

The spin is something like 740rpm I think. And no, it's not noisy. It's spins very smoothly, at least when it's empty.

HOOVER. WHO BETTER?! ;-)

Very nice pictures, everyone! :-)

I love that old Hoover phrase: “Hoover. Who better?” :-) Now what is it? No idea – very forgettable whatever it is. :-(

Anyway, everyone had/having a nice Christmas! :-) Hope so. :-)

Carl :-)

The Quattro from the first takeover range. I only know what i've read in the brochure of this model. The look of it is really nice. i'd love to see one in action. This to me is kind of the evolving of the newwave. But i feel it would be a different story if it was 110% hoover orientated.

When i lived with an ex we had this model which was the same as a "Six 1600" But just renamed easy logic 1600. I quite liked this model it was fairly nice. This was my first encounter with a pre takeover hoover. It was deadly silent! Extra rinse gave it some visable water so i was happy!
