Seller states these German units will work in the United States, but being 220v/50hz appliances I highly doubt it.

I think your link is broken, I can't get it to work.

Re. voltage & frequency: It could potentially work if the AC mains were converted to DC and all the motors & controls etc. ran on DC. Though I kinda' doubt anyone would go to that kind of expense i.e. it could get fiendishly costly for a high-current device.

What shocked me is the seller stated in his auction copy that the units would work with a 220v converter. This is of course is not correct and hope the winning bidder knows this.

Someone should write to the seller and politely inform them that the powerline frequencies are an issue, and a voltage converter will not be sufficient. This will give them the opportunity to add that revision to their listing and accept retractions from bidders who were misinformed by the previous listing.
