Ok.. Here's the dishwasher from the ladys house where i am babby sitting this week end.. Its a hardly used KDI-17... I love this thing... It runs so well.. She hardly uses it, i think enough to keep the seals good. I am going to see if i can talk her into me buying her a new dishwasher and this one coming home with me.. How hard would it be to make it into a portable unit?????
This is one of the best dishwashers ever and i love to use it and to here it run

It might be easier to turn a KD-17 into a portable than many other brands/models. The 17 has a very sturdy chassis that could be easy to sheath in sheet metal (stainless would be nice) or even wood. The drain water connection would have to be handled with an aftermarket hookup for sink faucet, and these are available as replacement parts for various dishwashers and washers over the internet or from parts stores. Still, it might be easier to look for a machine that was designed as a portable from the get-go.

FYI: Those spots in the bottom are not rust, but rather grease stains... I cleaned them up today
