Hi, all of you!
I'm thinking of getting a new twinnie (refurbished) from the UK but did not find a transporting company that can do this for a reasonable price! Most are even more expensive than the price for the "new" Twinny!! And 450,- euros for a used machine is definitely too much!
As time is not the problem, it doesn't matter how long the shipping will take. At Ebay where I asked for help, I got only stupid answers like: Who on earth is so stupid to buy a washing-machine the UK - what do you suggest to do when it needs repairs; sending it back to the UK for that purpose?....

Does anybody know a way to get it transported for a reasonable price ?

Ralf

Ralf--

What an interesting challenge!

Would taking EuroStar be out of the question, and picking it up in person???

Hello Ralf,

Try Pross Trading and ask if they do transports from England, they are cheaper than most other companies. Ofcourse shipping costs from England is more expensive than from other European countries.

Thank-you all of you!

Woohoo! What a response - thanks so much! Didn't expect that much and that quick!! Smile!

O.K. - thing is, that my Hotpoint is out of order... Well, fact is, it needs to get a new rubber-bellow installed at the bottom of the spinner, as this is broken and leaking.
Also the switch in the timer is getting old and sometimes resist to do its work properly... I ordered already the rubber-seal a few weeks ago in the UK to do the job. Also the machine has a new wash-motor already (from Kevin - thanx again for that!!) and a new suds re-circulation pump. But God knows what will come next....
But the more I think about the repairing the more I fear not to have all the tools I will need to fix the machine again and I do not have any experience in repairing this model at all - especially the spinner with all its gear-box, spinner can and stuff to be removed before I shall be able to change the rubber-bellow at all...pooohh!!
I found a dealer at Ebay's UK who sells completely refurbished Twinnies and single-tub washing-machines. Would love to buy several machines....just dreaming!!! I asked him about the best machine, I should buy: Hoover first, second Hotpoint and Servis in third range - he told me. BTW, I do not have any experience with a Servis! As I have already a Hoovermatic (just installed all new belts - thanx Kevin again!) and AEG Lavalux and as I prefer Hotpoint most (the machine with the best features ever built, if you ask me...) I thought it might be better to buy a "new" one in the UK. So, that's the idea behind my decision to fancy buying a machine that is completely checked...

Hi, Lawrence - that will be too expensive and cost about 4-5 times as much as getting it sent by a logistic company, not to forget that our car is too small for that adventure!

Hello, Foraloysius! I will get in contact with them soon!

Last but not least I would love to thank you Mike for your help!

To all of you: a nice week-end!

Ralf
