Greetings! As the source of these 3 Blackstones, it sure feels good to know that the machines have found a good home, and that everyone else would want one, too. Sorry, no more complete, working machines available, just parts and cabinets. I would much rather see these machines on this website, instead of in the junkyard.

Just to answer a few questions. Blackstone stopped manufacturing appliances in the mid-1970s. They were made in Jamestown, NY. I visited the factory once, but I was just a kid. My parents had a store for many years, we received our deliveries of appliances directly from the factory. Boxes would be lined up on the sidewalk in front of the store. We even had one laundromat model, from which I did save the coin box (35 cents for a wash).

I water-tested these machines before offering them, although I did not repair or rebuild anything on them. They were hanging around, waiting to be sold. On the newer machines, the pump would probably be the weakest link. They had a tendency to bind, or not pump enough volume. In the 1960s solid tub, the recirculating hose is broken at the end, which is why the water is misdirected. On the 1970s perforated tub, model BA-902, this was the top of the line model, but that was only because of the number of cycles. The soak cycle is an abbreviated cycle, ending as shown on the timer dial. No lights on the control panel. The BA-825 had a flourescent light, but this model was part of an older series of models, not a step down from the 902.

I must have one of the filter/dispensers around; sorry, I forgot to look.

I do have tons of the postcards, advertising the towels and/or coffee pots. Anyone who wants one, email me your address, and I'll send some.

Blackstone Coffee Pots?

Thanks for the info on the Blackstones. I've always felt that they were a regional/NE machine, although some have been spotted in Arizona. ;-) The fact that they were manufactured in Jamestown, NY kind of confirms that for me. Since they stopped manufacturing and didn't sell their washer line to anyone, did any company pick up their design patents?

Also, you mentioned postcards "advertising the towels and/or coffee pots". Did Blackstone make coffeepots as well?

Blackstone just went out of the appliance business. As far as I know, no other manufacturer used their design. Blackstone continued in business, making products such as auto radiators, ultrasonic cleaners, etc.

The coffeepot was a promotional giveaway to customers who came to the store, as were the towels and the gyroscopes.
