Hi:

The problem with my Whirly DD is going to be expensive to repair, and I'm going with a pair of centre-dial Maytags I've found.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read the thread. GO VINTAGE!!!

This advice is prolly too little too late. Make sure you don't bend any of the terminals on the motor switch as you plug the harness back in. Unplug the harness and make sure all the terminals on the motor switch are straight, then carefully plug the harness back. Try not to wiggle the harness plug as you do this. Also make sure that the harness plug terminals are all seated into the connector. Hope this helps! Also check to be sure the 2 wires that go to the capacitor ( if they are down at the motor) are fully seated as well.

Problem is wiring harness where it goes into the motor connector block. It's a common problem on these, and difficult to trace and repair. I'd need a repairman for that, and by the time I paid him, I'd lay out more than I am going to for the pair of Maytags...

Hey, I got eighteen repair-free years out of a DD Whirly. Gotta count my blessings and go on to the Next Great Adventure...
