One of the things I love about this site is how generous the members are with information.

and now, the Empress

This thing must have held a s--tload of dishes. I wonder how well it washed. I must remember to look at the 1957 Consumer's Report on dishwashers. I'd kill for one of these.

Cool Machine

Didn't the 30" have an electric door on it that opened and closed the dishwasher at the touch of a button?

Yes, that's that rectangular red button on the grille.

GE Dishwasher!

This is a awsome machine. I never realized GE made a 30" dishwasher. I also wonder how well it cleaned.

Who cares!!

Just kidding! What a cool machine this looks like. Our neightbors had the 24" model and I remember helping with the dishes when I was younger. What a shame too, they only used it when they had "company". Not sure why. They were very frugal I suspect they thought it was too expensive to run. I remember they had this huge family room and this teeny, tiny little A/C in the window. It was always hot as hell in there!! They didn't want to buy a new one so everyone sweltered with that one.
