Hi UK members

I think im going mad - But I can remember my gran having a large white square box and lid , with wooden clothes poles and possibly a heater ? Did these exist or not ? LOL

My mum had one - it was called a 'Flatley'...I think they were made in Ireland too...not particularly efficient compared to tumble dryers - but exactly as you describe!

My Mum also had a Flatley and I have two abiding memories of it; the smell of burning laundry and how stiff the clothes were when they came out. Good for airing clothes I guess but drying, not so good.
