Nice sales guy at Lowes said that within a month the new WP FLs will be in the store. They have been redesigned to look more like the LG machines.

the LG look...

Hmmm not sure why they would want there frontloaders to look like LG's maybe whirlpool doesnt want to take time out and make thier own designs! aquiring maytag maybe takes all there precious time LOL however the only visually appealing frontloader they made in my opinion is the duet sport.

Lee,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems again with the LG. What went wrong this time? Keep me posted.
I wish they made the Duets or Frigidaires in Combos.
Peter

The Kenmore He5T already "went this direction" in design. Noticed it immediately.

That looks like the "Sport" to me...

Sports and combos

That is the Duet Sport. In addition to the smaller 3.2 cf machine, they now offer a 3.5 cf machine to fill the gap in the lineup below Duet.

Frigidaire does make a combo using their smaller 3.1 cf washer, available in gas and electric dryers. Of course, all of their front loaders are stackable as well. I have the 2140 (3.5 cf) stacked with a dryer on top. The stacking bracket from Frigidaire cost about $25. (sorry, I wasn't holding the camera level).

To the right of the washer you can see the bollard (concrete filled pipe) that is required by county building ordinance (code), to prevent a runaway car from taking out a washer, dryer, furnace, and water heater, all of which are nestled in this alcove in the rear of the garage. The bollard would have blocked the door of a FL, even on a pedestal, so I went with a stacked configuration and put some cheap-o tray tables in the washer space to serve as a (surprisingly sturdy) folding table.

The picture that easyspindrier has posted is Whirlpool's new Duet front load washer model #WFW9400. It is posted on the company's website and it comes is 5 different colors. There is a step down model #WFW9200 that comes in white only.
