Hi All!
This weekend I think it's time to lube the damper pads on the A612. This is my everyday use machine, and I notice the tub is getting more tight and less smooth with an unbalanced load. The service manual suggests disconnecting the tub support springs and placing a 4X4 under the pulley to raise the damper up enough to get at the pads. I am concerned this can damage the pulley and lugs. Am I better to remove the entire tub/tranny assembly instead? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The manual is right, you can raise it enough to lube the pads with a board.

Kenny,
can't the shaft cam be damaged if it doesn't go up perfectly straight? Iam also afraid of distorting the pulley. The tub/ tranny assembly weighs a ton.

I don't think you'll have a problem. You're only going to lift it an inch or so.

Let us know how this goes; I'm thinking I may need to do the same thing soon. Any "been there, done that" stuff would be useful to know.

Thanks, and good luck!

Lift the top off the machine to have enough clearance for the tub-assembly to move upward. Easy stuff, you'll do just great!

Thanks, All!
This might seem trivial to some, but I picked a gorgeous A608 out of the trash this winter, and the only thing wrong with it is the damper- it's gone, metal on metal. It wasn't caused by a leak, either. I don't want my A612 to go down the same road.
