hey everyone -

i have my self a fully working hoover soft wave 1100 machine - i'm gonna stick it on ebay - but i thought i'd advertise it here first - i'm gonn atake some pic's of it tonight and post them here. the machine works perfectly, except there is a coin or something in the pump, makes a bit of a funny noise occasionally when it drains, but i'm sure it wouldn't be to difficult to remove - post here if your interested and i'll get back to ya via the thread

ta everyone

Brandon

I'm interested, take photos of the fill flume when it fills down the glass, i love that on old hoover softwaves/new-wave/classica machines. That was such a cool feature :)

Hoover front-fill

The interesting thing is that the early model "New Wave" my Mum had, originally avoided spraying the door-glass: it sprayed similar to a current Zanussi Jetsystem; a sort of arc.

But the soap box/dispenser developed a leak, so that was changed; along with a new pressure-control washer in the fill valve.

It never behaved like that again. From then on, water cascaded down the door glass.

Nice machine! Would love to see the front fill in action.

I wonder why these feature didn't get picked up by more manufacturers? It would save at least 10 mintutes of a cycle time where the front loader fills/tumbles/fills again.

After all the bitchin' I have done lately about Ebay sellers, it is refreshing to see an auction that has nice clear photos and a pretty complete discription. If I was in the UK, I'd bid on it!

Is it me or do Softwaves do bugger all wash action?

My new zanussi has front fill. Our first ever automatic was a hoover softwave, it lasted from 1995/6-2003 when the bearings gave way, absoloutely cracking machine when it was working.
